The road to your degree goes through the Office of the Dean of Students!

A Word from Prof. Batya Engel-Yeger, the Dean of Students

Dear Students:
On the eve of the new academic year, I wish each and every one of you a successful and wonderful academic year ahead.
Studying at the University of Haifa is a significant life experience, both in terms of the acquired knowledge and the personal growth.
Since the horrific events on October 7th, we have been in a difficult period of war. Our hearts are with the soldiers, with all serving in the security forces, who courageously guard us. We pray for the recovery of all the injured and the immediate return of all captured.
And to all our students – we, at the Decanate, are here to assist all of you and provide you with a pleasant and successful academic experience. We offer a variety of services, including dormitories, scholarships, psychological support, the units of accessibility and learning disabilities; academic excellence; The Career Center (professional and academic counseling and guidance); the unit for social involvement (a great opportunity to contribute to the community and to take part in one of the university’s main goals – the promotion of social and environmental sustainability, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals).
The University of Haifa is a leader in various academic fields. It is located in one of the most beautiful areas in Israel, with the spectacular view of Haifa and its surroundings – the mountains, the city, and the sea. Our university is proud to serve as a model of diversity and multiculturalism. This is a wonderful opportunity for to meet new friends and live together in an atmosphere that values mutual respect, tolerance and closeness of hearts.
We, at the Decanate, will do our best to enable you the opportunity to develop, succeed, be ready for the world of tomorrow, and lead Israel forward.
We believe in you.

On behalf of myself and the Decanate team, I wish you a happy and a successful year.

Sincerely yours,
Prof. Batya Engel-Yeger
Dean of Students
