An innovative program that offers a rehabilitative social system in the community and provides services to youth aged 12-18 who are dealing with their mental health. The program focuses on building a social network and strengthening social skills among young people who need support in order to successfully integrate into recreational activities in the community.
Students in the program will tutor a teenager throughout the academic year.
The program includes 3 training sessions that will include information on mental health and psychopathology, the mental health recovery approach and workshops (e.g., interpersonal communication skills, participant-mentor relationship: relationship goals, establishing eye-level contact, boundaries, modeling, etc.).
