SHAGI--The Tribes Initiative

SHAGI–The Tribes Initiative is a national project seeking to bring the different “tribes” of Israel together.

As part of the project, a student group from diverse faculties will meet with ultra-Orthodox residents for a conversation and joint community service. The conversations focus on different topics (army enlistment, Sabbath in the public sphere, etc.) and are held at the Hadarim Center (near the Horev Center). In addition, there project holds celebratory events open to the public at large.

The extent of the activity is about 3 hours once every two weeks, for a total of 70 hours per year.

Scholarship amount: 6,000 NIS

Criteria for submitting your candidacy*:

  • Classes consisting of at least 75% of full-time status
  • Knowledge about secular-religious issues
  • The ability to listen
  • Good speaking skills
  • Unique criteria based on the different projects
